Welcome to Quirky Crafts Challenges

Welcome to Quirky Crafts Challenges the place where any craft project is allowed.

We're a small design team with big inspiration.

Once a fortnight we set a new challenge which will begin on a Sunday and close at midday on the Saturday before the next challenge. The DT will pick their top three favourites and you could win a prize and join us as a Guest Designer. Winners are posted separately on Sunday just before the new challenge is posted so scroll down to check if you are a winner.

Challenge #24 It's Nearly Quirky Christmas! (And A Quirky DT Call!)

Thank you to everyone who joined in  the last Challenge by adding a feather to their fantastic projects! And thank you to our sponsors too! To see the winners go here, or scroll down!
It's the end of the year and we were thinking we really need some more Quirky crafters! (card makers, mixed media artists we need you!) - interested? If so, contact Cazzy using the links or form in the sidebar or put DT after your name on your entry. If you've never been on a Design Team before, this is the place to have a go! Please bear with Cazzy - her computer is very poorly at the moment so she might not get back to you right away. In fact apologies to our lovely guests - your badges will be made when Cazzy's computer is well again.  Good news - it is fixed, and Cazzy will sort out badges and winners tomorrow. (Yippee Cazzy!)
Back to the post! This is Lyn. I was thinking about the  last creations I added to last weeks challenge post  and was suddenly in the mood for making Christmas Cards, and seeing it's almost upon us, that's my next challenge for you!!
 Anything Christmas!
Any crafty project is acceptable as usual.
Our Super Sponsors this time are...

Proud Designer for Digital Delights
 Guest Designers
Elena used the lovely "Chibi reindeer" provided by Bugaboo Stamps to make a gorgeous Christmas ornament.

Margreet makes a lovely Christmas gift box with "Big Present", a lovely digi provided by Ditzie Designs aka That Craft Place.

(sorry the next two cards are a little late, due to Cazzy's computer problems)
Cristina used a Bugaboo image she had already to make this lovely red and white card.

Susan used Mixie from Ditzie Designs, isn't she pretty? A non traditional Christmas card that any little girl would love!

Design Team

For my Christmas card I used the adorable "Gift Giving Cedric", provided by Digital Delights.
My today´s first project is a tag. I used the Gift Giving Cedric from our sponsor Digital Delights.

My second one, also a tag, using the sweet twinkle, from  Ditzie Designs aka That Craft Place.
will be here later

As usual I'm running late so I've added this card, using two Bugaboo snowmen.lil-snowman/star and Lil-Snowman, which I've 3D-ed and coloured with Promarkers. You too can back-link, providing, we haven't seen your creation in any of our challenges and it's no older than ten days old!

Here's my 'real' DT card for this challenge using  "Gift Giving Cedric" from  Digital Delights.
I've finally managed to print out four of him, (my computer run out of coal again!) coloured him with Promarkers, and then cut him up so I could 3D him. I've added extra stick-on presents, loads of Stickles Glitter, red gems and a bit of holly as well as a snowflake button and ribbons. The papers were free from a crafting mag. They're called 'Me to You'  The sentiment was done on the computer.

This is the reminder post for challenge #23.
Remember that we see all kinds of projects related to feathers!!!!

With this last challenge, it's time for me to say goodbye to Quirky Crafts Challenges, it was beautiful to share designs over the blog, thanks Carol for trusting in my work and Monica for her patience and invaluable help. Thank you very much for the opportunity, I had a lot of fun and a great time!

Our sponsors, provided our design team with some beautiful digital stamps

  1st place:From Crafty Ribbons £10 voucher
2nd Place: 7 images from Bugaboo
3rd Place: 4 images from Sweet Pea Stamps

Edwina made another very pretty card again using the Sweet Pea Stamps Digi called Coni Fong’s Buttercup.” this time in blue and yellow with real feathers to match, so pretty Edwina, thank you. Edwina is very poorly right now and we wish her a speedy recovery.

Margreet used a Bugaboo digi, named Flowerbird. She added some die cut embossed feathers, and this is pretty in pink too. We love it Margreet, thank you.

Shadow Box using the digi Ching Chou Kuik's Red Rose digi

For my easel card, I used "A little bird told me" design by Norma Burnell`s and provided by Sweet Pea Stamps.

Here is my today´s project, this time I made card using the Heather Valentine´s Summer image, courtesy of Sweet Pea Stamps.

I used Chickz - Cool Chick from Bugaboo on my card, and real feather again. I didn't have green or denim blue feathers - these were pale blue and I applied Promarker pens to them to change the colours!
Thank you Gaby for being a wonderful team member, and I wish you all the best. I will say a proper goodbye next week.
We're going to miss you Gaby! Here's my cards....better late than never, so I've added them both to the reminder. I've used Bugaboo snowman images
This is Snowman Skates. I've sort of 3D-ed him, his hat, nose and skates, coloured him with Promarkers and added Stickles Glitter Glue. One of my backing papers also has feathers on it.

This is my second card. I've used some cute Bugaboo penguins sitting on a bench, called Little-Penguin-Winter--winter-bench, some lilac/ lilac and white PinkPetticoat backing paper, lilac card, silver miri card, silver snowflake peel offs, white snow flakes, some sparkly gems, white eyelash wool, Stickle Glitter, purple feathers and flower buds (yes they are purple not blue!) and a Merry Christmas peel of sentiment

Hi ladies, it's my turn (Gaby) to set the challenge.

To see who won the last challenge see the previous post below this one HERE

And this time we want to see "Feathers" in your makes.
Anything with feathers goes: it could be in your image or added in your project.

 Our fabulous sponsors are:

Here for the last time, because Sweet Pea Stamps are closing down on 25th Nov, and we would like to thank them for sponsoring us this year and providing us with gorgeous images to use.

 1st place: From Crafty Ribbons:
 a £10 voucher .

2nd place: 7 images from Bugaboo
3rd place: 4 images form Sweet Pea Stamps.

I am using a Sweet Pea Stamps Digi called “Coni Fong’s Buttercup.”
The digi is colored with Copics. The feathers are by Creatology. The  background is embossed with a Darice Embossing Folder called Woodgrain. I thought it looked like a feather design. The ribbon butterfly I made myself with a piece of floral wire, 2 pieces of ribbon 3” long and a crystal gem.  The flowers are by Wild Orchid Crafts. The card is 5” x 6 ½”.

Margreet used Sandra Caudwell's Glamour Chick from Sweet Pea, with real feathers and a lovely colour combination. Nice one Margreet.
My project is to use a cloud embossing folder where you use white ink to give depth to the clouds and use the beautiful digi Birthday Bird Trio from Bugaboo, I love my card. (We love it too Ledia).

I developed a small lamp, decorate with this cute little angel  Bugaboo Angels - A Little Birdie our sponsor BUGABOO.

For my card I used the lovely Fancy Chibi provided by Bugaboo Stamps.

My today´s project using the lovely Lucy Loo from our generous sponsor Sweet Pea Stamps. I used Spectrum Noir Alcohol Makers, feathers stream and gold buttons.

I love Sandra Caudwell's birds, and this one is called Pilgrim Crow and is from Sweet Pea Stamps. I found some real feathers and a feather charm as well as my feathered friend on the pumpkin! The spotty ribbons are from Crafty Ribbons of course!

Any crafty project is acceptable as usual.
